In the case where a company is both your customer and your supplier, you may not necessarily want to have two separate contacts in your system. Having both customer and supplier data on the same company is interesting, for example when printing a balance confirmation report.
The workflow described below is the same no matter if you start in the customer registry or the supplier registry.
- Go to Registry - Customers and select All Companies in the drop down.
- The companies that appear in the list without a customer number are suppliers that exist in your supplier registry.
Sort the list on customer number to gather them.
- Select the relevant company and give it a customer number. All the relevant data automatically populates the supplier registry for this company.
- Save. You have now created a company that is both a customer and a supplier.
Note: When you enter the company number when creating a customers or a suppliers, a duplicate check will automatically inform you if this company already exists in your registry. See below:
