You can export all or selected journals to a file.
Workflow:
- The Export Journal functionality is under Accounting - Journals. Click on Export Journals to File at the bottom right corner. See below.
- Use the Filter to select which journals you want to export. You can select to export all journal series or just a specific series using the drop-down menu. See below.
You can also select journals within a certain time period. Enter dates manually or use the calendar to select them.
Both selection criteria can be combined, so that you can, for example, export series B journals for March only. The journals to be exported are displayed in the journal list.
If you want to export all Series B journals, do not make any changes in the date field and you will get all Series B journals for the financial year you are working in.
- When you are satisfied with your selection, click on Export Journals to File at the bottom right corner of the screen.
A window will open offering you the option to select the type of delimiter that will separate the information in the text file you are creating. Choose from the drop-down menu if the file should be:
- tab-delimited (TAB)
- comma delimited (,)
- semicolon-delimited (;)
See below.
- After selecting delimiter, click on Export Journals to File to continue or Cancel to cancel.
If you click on Export Journals to File, a file will be created with your journals and you can click the link to open it. See below.
If you open the file, it will look similar to the example below if you have selected TAB as the delimiter. Note: Below is the information that was exported when all of the Series B journals were selected. - You can now save the file on your computer.
