How to open a text file in Excel

If you have a text file that you would like to open in Excel to be able to reformat it for example.

Right click on the file and select Open With and select Microsoft Excel. See below.

The file will then be opened in a spreadsheet. See below.

Alternatively, open Excel and select the text file you want to open.

This will trigger the Text import wizard which will help you import your text to Excel’s columns in the best possible way.
